Blog on Baby Center Today Regarding Stroller Use

There is a blog by a dad on Baby Center today that really pissed me off! You can read it HERE

He talks about older kids or in this case a "big" child being pushed in a stroller. This child gets out of the stroller and runs up to the park. He is quick to judge that the child should have been made to walk to the park, not ride in a stroller. There are many issues that I have with this theory!!

*He has no idea how far this family walked to get to that park. There are some distances that are simply too far to expect a child to walk the entire way.

*The child might not have appear disabled in any way, but that doesn't mean there isn't something there that wasn't easily seen.

And what would personally apply to me:

*I have a runner. Emma is almost 4 and takes off pretty quickly. I can tell her until my face turns blue to stay put, but that doesn't mean she will. With a baby also in tow, it's hard to catch up with her if she does take off. It would also be difficult to get to her before possibly a car does.

I know walking is much better for children for the exercise. Emma is so active, I don't worry about that part of it at all with her. I do worry about her running out in a parking lot, a street, a driveway .. and getting hit by a car that couldn't have seen her coming. I also worry about the possibility of the sickos out there that could snatch her before I could get to her. I guess I am silly to worry about the SAFETY of my child before worrying about if she is too big or too old for a stroller!

TV Talk - Summer Shows

I love shows that are on just in the summer. So many shows are in reruns. It's nice to have some new shows.

Big Brother
True Blood
So You Think You Can Dance
The Bachelorette
America's Got Talent
Rizzoli and Isles

TV Talk - Shows That's Fates Are Not Determined

Now, this list is HUGE. There are many shows that have not been renewed yet, but are more than likely going to be. There are also some that no one seems to know yet if they will be back or not.

Better With You- We watch this show every week. We even DVR it. I really like it. Not sure Dan really cares one way or the other. I like how it shows all 3 couples and how different they all are. My favorite part of the show is when they show all 3 couples at the start and how they are all reacting different to pretty much the same thing happening. lol

Mr. Sunshine- Another show we DVR'd every week. While it was on, anyway. I think part of the appeal is that I just really like Matthew Perry. There were some really funny parts here and there, but it could definitely use some improvement. Not sure it will be back...

Blue Bloods- WHY HAS THIS SHOW NOT BEEN RENEWED ALREADY??? It's doing really well and it's a great show! Who would have ever thought that Donnie Wahlberg would turn into such a great actor. Certainly not me, as a 14 year old who was completely in love with NKOTB! lol

Mike and Molly- This is by far one of my favorite shows right now. It's absolutely hilarious. Don't believe me? Watch this clip

TV Talk - Canceled Shows

We recently started watching "Breaking In" on Fox with Christian Slater. We really liked it. Christian Slater's character is pretty far out there. lol Well .. it got canceled! Go figure!

We had started watching The Chicago Code when it first started. I didn't really care one way or another for it. It was nice to see Jennifer Beals again. I hadn't watched anything with her in it since "Flashdance". I quit watching, but Dan continued. Then, he stopped too. So, we were not surprised when it was canceled as well.

There are several other shows that have been canceled (or not renewed for next season) that we never watched.

My Generation
Skating With the Stars
Super Nanny
The Whole Truth
Live to Dance
Life Unexpected
Smallville
The Good Guys
Human Target
Lie to Me
Lonestar
Running Wilde
Traffic Light
The Cape
Friday Night Lights
Outlaw
The Paul Reiser Show
Undercovers
