Target Tips for Using Coupons

Target now price matches a price in a published competitor's ad.

Target does not double any coupons. However, they have in store coupons you can print from HERE
Some of these coupons print out as a manufacturer's coupon and some as a store coupon. If it is a store coupon, you can "stack" that store coupon AND a manufacturer's coupon and use them on the same item.

You can also sign up to receive mobile coupons. You will receive a text message with a link to your coupons. There will be a barcode that will show on your phone for the cashier to scan and redeem you coupons. You can sign up HERE.

Something else that Target has been doing is Gift Card rewards. They have many of these in their weekly ad, but there are also some instore that they do not advertise. For example, right now there is a list of items .. if you buy 2 of any of those items, you receive a $5 Target gift card. There is toilet paper, paper towels, Tide detergent, Bounce dryer bars, and many other items.

Kroger / Payless Tips for Using Coupons

You can get on Kroger/Payless's website and sign up. Be sure to have your Loyalty Card when you do. Sign up HERE

There are coupons available on the website that you can "clip" and they will load to your card. Then when you scan your card at the register, the coupons automatically come off. Now, unlike Meijer's mperks, you cannot use a manufacturer's coupon in combination with the Loyalty card coupons. So, if you have a manufacturer coupon that you really want to use (better coupon, can be doubled, is getting ready to expire), be sure to NOT load the coupon on your loyalty card. They come off before any coupons you hand the cashier.

Kroger / Payless does double coupons up to 50 cents also!

Coupon Tips for Meijer

First a few things you should know about Meijer. They double coupons up to 50 cents. They have a few different options on their website also with coupons. You can join Meijer MPerks HERE. You can then "clip" coupons that will be associated with your phone number. While at the register, there is an option to put in your MPerks number (your phone number). Then, it automatically takes off your coupons.

There are a few cool features about MPerks, aside from the basic money you are saving from the coupon.

*Occasionally, there will be a coupon show up that could be just a total amount off your bill, rather than for a specific item. Just last week, I had a coupon for $5 off my total bill.

*You can "stack" manufacturer's coupons along with the MPerks coupon. For example: Say you have a $.50 off coupon on mperks for Reynold's Wrap and a $.75 off manufacturer coupon for Reynold's Wrap. You could use both and get $1.25 off your Reynold's Wrap.

Also at Meijer's website is Meijer Mealbox. It has options to add items to a shopping list for a recipe. There are also coupons you can print from there.

Red Plum

The Final Results of the Triple Coupon Weekend!

After 6 trips and 3 Marsh stores .. here's the final total:

Total before coupons - $506.31

Total after coupons - $$139.08

Total savings of - $367.23 or 73%

This includes 12 boxes of cereal, 16 packages of hot dogs, 10 Totinos pizzas, 8 bottles of mens' body wash, 2 packages of Good Nites for Emma (expensive!), 10 bottles of Weber grilling seasonings, 8 packages of new Jello Temptations desserts, 5 boxes of Nabisco Crackerfuls and much more .. Those were my big savings items. For example, the Jello Temptations were 19 cents each. The Crackerfuls were free, the Weber grilling seasonings were free plus an overage (which one store DID give), the 8 bottles of body wash, we spent 3 cents, I think lol

Overall, we did pretty good! We could have done even better if they had not ran out of stock on several items. From what I understand, most of the Marsh employees found out on Thursday that the triple coupons started on Friday. They didn't get enough time to get much backstock on big items.

More of My Couponing Weekend!

Bargain Briana

My new favorite coupon website!! She is in Indiana, so it is much more relevant to stores near me. She has the Marsh sale listed and several coupons that would be great for using at Marsh while they are tripling coupons. Several items that would be free or very cheap.

I have made a total of 3 trips and am going back again today.

First trip -
Total before coupons - $175.73
After coupons - $52.19
A savings of $123.54 - 71%

Second trip -
Total before coupons - $63.32
After coupons - $11.80.
A savings of $51.52 - 82%

Third trip -
Total before - $115.37
Total after - $24.61
A savings of $90.76 - $79%

I will definitely post what my next trip is. Dan and I both plan on going, so we can use more coupons. They will only let you triple 2 of the same coupon .. after that, they are just face value.

The Coupon Sites I Use

I've been having a lot of people ask what sites I use for my coupons. So, I thought I'd compile a list here.

Coupons.com

SmartSource

Redplum

Hip2Save - This is one of my favorites. It matches sales with available coupons. It also gives you deals at restaurants, other stores besides grocery, drug stores, etc.

MoneySavingMom

Retail Me Not

Common Sense With Money

Also, there are several company websites you can get on to print off coupons. For example: Like Totinos pizzas? I know our family does. Totinos.com has coupons quite often. Right now, they have 50 cents off 1 pizza.

If you have facebook, many times you can "like" a company on there and then a coupon shows up that you can print off. Many of the sites listed above will let you know when those show up on facebook.

Good luck!!!!

My big coupon weekend!

One of our local groceries stores, Marsh, is having a triple coupon sale this weekend. From now, through Monday, they will triple any coupon up to $1.00.

I printed like crazy this afternoon, sorted, clipped, and thought I was prepared for the trip. I took way more coupons than I really thought I might use. I know that Marsh's prices tend to run a little higher than most other stores. So, I knew that after I got there, I might decide to not buy some things, even with the additional amount off.

I should have known better than to take all three kids, but at least Dan was with me. It still would have went much smoother if it were just me or just me and Dan.

Our total before coupons - $175.73
After coupons - $52.19
Total savings of $123.54 or 71%

I was pretty excited!!

We haven't really done any stockpiling before. We had never had good enough deals or thought we should spend the money. We did our first bit of stockpiling today. It was only on men's body wash, but hey! It's a start lol.

We had a buy one get one free coupon on Old Spice Body Wash.
We stacked that with a $1 off coupon (that was tripled to $3 off)
It was on sale for $2.19
We had an overage of 81 cents that went toward our total bill.

We had two of these deals.

We also had a coupon for $1 off (tripled to $3) for Dove Men's Body Wash. It was $4.65 (kind of high), so it ended up being $1.65 for that. Still cheaper than anywhere else.

So, for 3 cents .. we got 6 bottles of body wash!

If anyone has babies and receives the formula checks from the formula companies - Babies R Us has a good deal this weekend too. They have the 2 oz bottles of formula (a 6 or 8 pack, depending on the brand) on sale for $5. Most formula checks are $5, some a little more .. some a little less. Could be free formula though!!

My Kids are Crazy!

Yep, certifiable lol.

When Sarah was little, she would make up her own words for things.
Shoes were doobadahs. I still have no idea why. She would get all excited at a store and want to try on doobadahs. Just about a year ago, we were in Olive Garden and their forks only have 3 prongs. She was sitting there, just staring at that fork. She then asks, with a completely straight face "Would this be called a threek?". She has turned so shy over the past few years. She doesn't hardly talk to people, especially if she doesn't know them that well. Then again, there's family members that she barely talks around too.

Emma is by far my most nutty child.
She does things almost daily to make me think this lol. She told me last night that her light bulb had ran out of ink. She talks to the tv, even yells at it. She was only about a year old when we caught her "surfing" on the rocking chair in her bedroom. I knew then we were in for it! She absolutely loves rock music. Her favorite songs are by Blind Melon and Our Lady Peace. She has also really gotten into Bon Jovi lately. She loves to watch hockey for the Boom Booms, as she calls the fighting.

Now, Kaitlin is just starting to get her personality, but she is stubborn!
She wants you to hold her bottle with your hand! If you even attempt to use your chin to hold the bottle to have a free hand for a minute...she has a fit! She has to have her fuzzy blankets. She will even smile as soon as she feels it or even sees it coming. While feeding her, she would rather eat her hands than the formula. They get in the way quite a bit. She doesn't care if I am trying to put the bottle in her mouth, she wants her hands instead lol. She also really likes to get her diaper changed. She hadn't in the past, but within the last few weeks, she really does! She will smile really big while we are changing her lol.

Extreme Couponing

I watched this show again last night. I've only watched it a couple of times. Watching it last night, a woman bought over $600 worth of merchandise and spent out of pocket..less than $3! How in the world can that be possible??!! I did notice that the $600 amount came without the use of the store card first. I don't consider that the actual total, I guess. The use of the store card is really the sale price. They would have gotten that price, with or without coupons. So, that isn't "couponing", IMO.

Also, where do they get the coupons that just give them something for FREE. I have gotten buy one get one free coupons before. They show these people getting actual coupons that just give them an item free. Where in the world do I get those??!! I want some!

Maybe I don't have the right mindset for this lol. I also wouldn't buy something to just be buying it at a good deal. I only buy things my family will actually use. I rarely seem to get a great sales price, plus a coupon on more than a few items together. I know that's really the key. Find a great sales price, then use the coupon to bring the price down even farther.

I will probably never get the stockpile going and never probably save thousands of dollars, but I am lowering our grocery bill every month. So, I am happy with that!

His Money / Her Money

I read / participate in BabyCenter's message boards. I've seen several posts throughout the past year that I have been on there about his money or her money. I have never understood this. My husband and I first moved in together, we kept our money separate for the first couple of months. We each paid 1/2 of everything. Then, we got engaged and it all combined. Why not? We were getting married anyway.

I see posts a lot about buying things with "his" money because the wife is a stay at home mom and doesn't make any money. WHAT?! I don't understand why it would only be his money anyway. Besides, could you imagine how much you'd make if you were working..doing the things that someone does while they are a stay at home mom. Even if you just think of the money that would be spent on daycare if the wife wasn't at home.

In my opinion, it's not like the wife is really NOT working. Sure, she doesn't have a job outside the home. It's still a lot of work either way.

I'm not a stay at home mom. I have my days where I don't do a whole lot, but other days where I work my butt off. lol

Crazy News I Have Seen Around Today

First there is the mom that injected her 8 year old daughter with botox for a pageant! She has now had her daughter taken away. ARTICLE HERE Seriously, what in the world was this woman thinking??!! I can't imagine her 8 year old had wrinkles anyway! AND SHE IS AN EIGHT YEAR OLD GIRL!! Seriously, WTH?!

Then, there's the MELATONIN BROWNIES. Now, this is the way to go! lol For me, not the kids! I've had to take Melatonin quite a bit, especially since having had Kaitlin. Insomnia struck hard after having her. It'd be great to eat a brownie instead of having to take a pill! LOL

There is now a cologne called BACON for men. I love me some bacon, but I don't really want my husband to smell like it lol.. I don't need to be hungry ALL the time! lol

THIS MAN married 107 women!! He also has 185 children!! I thought my 3 were too many at times!! How can he keep everyone straight??!! He must seriously have some great memorization skills!

THIS WOMAN
went to court with a monkey in her bra!! LMAO

Sketchers Shape Ups for Girls

My friend, Denica first brought these to my attention. I had not seen the commercials. Now, today .. it's all over the news. Parents are outraged. I happen to agree. This is absolutely ridiculous. They start at size 2, which according to THIS ARTICLE is the average size of a SEVEN YEAR OLD!!! No 7 year old little girl needs to be concerned if her legs and butt are toned! Who is looking at a 7 year old's butt anyway??!!

My oldest daughter is 10. I see it a little with her already..worrying about the way she looks. She is a beautiful girl and is starting to be concerned about things that only she is noticing. I could also see her wanting these shoes. She won't be getting them. Some good old fashioned playing is pretty good exercise at her age. Besides, she is TEN! Sure, she should be thinking of being healthy. This is extreme though, I do believe...

Quite Unhappy

Every post I did yesterday and a few others are completely missing now!! I had one that I had "scheduled". Never did that before and it's gone too! Grr!

Blog on Baby Center Today Regarding Stroller Use

There is a blog by a dad on Baby Center today that really pissed me off! You can read it HERE

He talks about older kids or in this case a "big" child being pushed in a stroller. This child gets out of the stroller and runs up to the park. He is quick to judge that the child should have been made to walk to the park, not ride in a stroller. There are many issues that I have with this theory!!

*He has no idea how far this family walked to get to that park. There are some distances that are simply too far to expect a child to walk the entire way.

*The child might not have appear disabled in any way, but that doesn't mean there isn't something there that wasn't easily seen.

And what would personally apply to me:

*I have a runner. Emma is almost 4 and takes off pretty quickly. I can tell her until my face turns blue to stay put, but that doesn't mean she will. With a baby also in tow, it's hard to catch up with her if she does take off. It would also be difficult to get to her before possibly a car does.

I know walking is much better for children for the exercise. Emma is so active, I don't worry about that part of it at all with her. I do worry about her running out in a parking lot, a street, a driveway .. and getting hit by a car that couldn't have seen her coming. I also worry about the possibility of the sickos out there that could snatch her before I could get to her. I guess I am silly to worry about the SAFETY of my child before worrying about if she is too big or too old for a stroller!

TV Talk - Summer Shows

I love shows that are on just in the summer. So many shows are in reruns. It's nice to have some new shows.

Big Brother
True Blood
So You Think You Can Dance
The Bachelorette
America's Got Talent
Rizzoli and Isles

TV Talk - Shows That's Fates Are Not Determined

Now, this list is HUGE. There are many shows that have not been renewed yet, but are more than likely going to be. There are also some that no one seems to know yet if they will be back or not.

Better With You- We watch this show every week. We even DVR it. I really like it. Not sure Dan really cares one way or the other. I like how it shows all 3 couples and how different they all are. My favorite part of the show is when they show all 3 couples at the start and how they are all reacting different to pretty much the same thing happening. lol

Mr. Sunshine- Another show we DVR'd every week. While it was on, anyway. I think part of the appeal is that I just really like Matthew Perry. There were some really funny parts here and there, but it could definitely use some improvement. Not sure it will be back...

Blue Bloods- WHY HAS THIS SHOW NOT BEEN RENEWED ALREADY??? It's doing really well and it's a great show! Who would have ever thought that Donnie Wahlberg would turn into such a great actor. Certainly not me, as a 14 year old who was completely in love with NKOTB! lol

Mike and Molly- This is by far one of my favorite shows right now. It's absolutely hilarious. Don't believe me? Watch this clip

TV Talk - Canceled Shows

We recently started watching "Breaking In" on Fox with Christian Slater. We really liked it. Christian Slater's character is pretty far out there. lol Well .. it got canceled! Go figure!

We had started watching The Chicago Code when it first started. I didn't really care one way or another for it. It was nice to see Jennifer Beals again. I hadn't watched anything with her in it since "Flashdance". I quit watching, but Dan continued. Then, he stopped too. So, we were not surprised when it was canceled as well.

There are several other shows that have been canceled (or not renewed for next season) that we never watched.

My Generation
Skating With the Stars
Super Nanny
The Whole Truth
Live to Dance
Life Unexpected
Smallville
The Good Guys
Human Target
Lie to Me
Lonestar
Running Wilde
Traffic Light
The Cape
Friday Night Lights
Outlaw
The Paul Reiser Show
Undercovers

Any shows you are sad to see go?

Our Morning Adventures

It has been that kind of morning! My oldest, Sarah got up and ready for school. She made herself breakfast and left a complete mess. Our middle daughter, Emma thought she'd try to help and put away the shredded cheese that Sarah had used on her eggs. The bag wasn't closed, so cheese went everywhere.

Then, Emma grabbed her gardening "purse" and dumped her tools out of it onto the couch. Well, she had been digging yesterday..so, the couch was covered in dirt. Sarah thought she'd clean it up by sweeping the couch off with the broom. Emma walked up behind her and Sarah ended up hitting her with the broom.

Sarah finally got off to school. Emma was eating her breakfast. When .. it happened..

I had to cut the onesie!

Kaitlin is our third child and I have never had to clean up a mess bad enough that I had to break out scissors and cut clothes off. That certainly happened this morning though!! There was no way I was taking that off over her head!

All of this before 8:30 this morning ... wonder what the rest of the day has in store...

De Quervain's Tenosynovitis

This is what I have in both hands. Also, the reason that I can no longer bowl :( Disappointing, because I always enjoyed bowling.

This started only about 2 weeks after having our youngest daughter. So, it's been going on for about 10 weeks now.

I can get through a good portion of the day without it really bothering me. Then, all of a sudden, I will move my thumb or wrist in just a way that I about want to scream. By the end of the day, the wrists are pretty sore.

http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/de-quervains-tenosynovitis/DS00692

I'm getting too old for this....

I turned 35 a couple of weeks ago. I spent the day with family, ending with a dinner out at Red Lobster with my husband and daughters. My best friend is engaged to my husband's cousin...they tend to be who we do stuff with if we want to go out. They weren't able to go out the weekend that my birthday fell on, so we went this past weekend instead. My brave sister in law kept all 3 of our girls, including our almost 3 month old!

I think we pretty much decided after this weekend that we are just getting too old for the bar scene. We went to a newer bar that is about half pool tables. With pool being $1 a game, we weren't going to spend that much so that we could play pool all night. So, we ended up leaving there and just going to the bowling alley. The other 3 bowled and I watched. Another post on why I can't is coming....

We had a much better time at the bowling alley than at the bar. There was a bar there, so if anyone did want a drink .. it was available. We mostly go out together to talk to each other, so a bar is not really necessary as far as the other people that are there.

Maybe we really are just getting old! lol

Another Book Coming Out Soon

This one comes out June 21st! If you haven't read the Stephanie Plum books, they are a must!! So funny!!

New Book!

Very excited that the new Sookie book is out! It just came out on Tuesday. If anyone sees my hubby, be sure to hint that this would be a great Mother's Day gift! lol Funny thing is, I got the last one for Mother's day LAST year! lol

Anyone else read Charlaine Harris??
